How to Create Brand Awareness for Schools

Written by Tyler Hart | Nov 24, 2020 7:56:07 PM

Education is a competitive market. It makes sense, too; parents want only the best when it comes to their child's schooling. The same goes for older students looking for help with studying or earning certificates. When searching for schools, proximity is often a key factor. Beyond that, it's all about visibility. Here's how you can create brand awareness around your educational facility.

How do I create brand awareness?

The first thing you do to create brand awareness for your school or education facility is to make sure all of your brand assets are in order. Do you have a modern, up-to-date logo? Are there unique colors or fonts attributed to your school? You want the answer to both of these questions to be yes. If not, you should work with a national-scale printer that offers custom design services.

Once you have a chosen aesthetic, there are a number of different things you can do to improve brand awareness for your school or education facility.

Participate in local college fairs.

While less common in K-12 schools, fairs are a perfect way to get students interested in colleges and universities. Being able to speak to students directly can make a big difference to their prospective plans. Additionally, parents frequently attend these with their children, so you'll have double the opportunity to snag the attention of new stakeholders - and possibly alumni. You can offer custom books or pamphlets printed as take home materials for prospective clients that offer further engagement opportunities.

Get involved in other ways.

Young people care about what their favorite brands stand for. You can increase brand awareness for your school by getting involved with the sorts of things your students, prospective and otherwise, care about. Send direct mailers about progressive initiatives your school is taking. Share pamphlets about donations you've made or partnerships you're working on. Make sure people know about the good things you're doing. Once they do, they'll tell others.

Be persistent.

Creating brand awareness is about two main things: making sure you have a recognizable brand and consistently putting out content and materials to remind people of that fact. Your biggest boon when it comes to making your school or education business more well known is going to be figuring out which types of content your target audience likes... and then making that content. Maybe it's mailers, maybe it's tips and tricks for new students, maybe it's 3D window displays. Whatever it is, make sure you keep it coming.
